Brick Stitch is my favorite of all stitches. I can do many others but always come back to Brick Stitch. I love it for filigree work! There are so many things that can be accomplished with Brick Stitch that can't be done with other beading techniques.
A perfect example would be my "Midnight Symphony" bracelet pattern. That pattern can be found here: Midnight Symphony Beading Pattern
While this pattern may not be for everyone, the more advanced artisan will love the challenge that this pattern offers.
The most common question I get from people is, "Where do I start this pattern?".
I find that most people are more comfortable with working a decrease rather than an increase. There is no law that says where you are supposed to begin working your bead pattern. You start it where you are most comfortable, even if it's in the middle.
Find the longest rows and start there. Use a metal board and a couple of magnetic strips to mark where you are working. Or mark up your pattern like I do with a pencil. :) Just make sure you have saved your bead pattern to your computer so you can print off another copy when it's needed.
